A skin of snow leopard hung in a yurt of Chui region in Kyrchyn ethnic camp. The State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry reported.

Illegal shooting of a maral, wild sheep, bear is punished by a fine of 1 million soms, a snow leopard — 1.5 million soms, an ibex — 100,000 soms, roe deer, Turkestan lynx or manul cat — 50,000 soms.
Illegal hunting with causing a major damage is punished by a fine of 500 to 700 calculated rates, correctional labor up to two years, or imprisonment from two to five years.
There are about 324 snow leopards in Kyrgyzstan.
