It is strictly forbidden to shoot and decorate yurts with skins of animals included in the List of Endangered Species. At least 381 violations of the rules of hunting, poaching and destruction of the plant world for 3,245,590 soms have been detected in 2017.
Illegal shooting of a maral, wild sheep, bear is punished by a fine of 1 million soms, a snow leopard — 1.5 million soms, an ibex — 100,000 soms, roe deer, Turkestan lynx or manul cat — 50,000 soms.
Illegal hunting with causing a major damage is punished by a fine of 500 to 700 calculated rates, correctional labor up to two years, or imprisonment from two to five years.
There are about 324 snow leopards in Kyrgyzstan.
