OGP in Kyrgyzstan: openness may improve living standards of population

Openness may improve the living standards of the population. The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev told today at the global summit of the Open Government Partnership in Tbilisi (Georgia).

Answering the questions, he noted that Kyrgyzstan had joined the Open Government Partnership in order to more effectively implement measures to improve public administration, increase the participation of civil society in decision-making by the state agencies and use the opportunities of new technologies, aimed at increasing the efficiency and transparency of the state bodies.

«In accordance with the government’s program «Trust. Unity. Creation» on the provision of public services in digital format, it is proposed to form a single platform for providing citizens with electronic services. I want to note that the possibility of getting state services in electronic format will improve the quality of their provision, reduce corruption manifestations and the costs of the state bodies,» the prime minister explained.

The government is working to increase the level of openness and transparency of the government agencies. The Kyrgyz side fully supports the key principles of OGP.

«We hope that the implementation of the national action plan with the support of our international partners will improve the quality of government decisions, increase confidence in the government and contribute to the successful accomplishment of the tasks in the field of governance and economic development. We are convinced that the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the partnership will increase the level and welfare of our people,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.
