The Prosecutor General’s Office instituted criminal proceedings against the officials of the State Customs Service on causing material damage to the state in an especially large amount. The press service of the agency reported.
It was noted that the case was initiated under Article 304 (abuse of office) of the Criminal Code. In August 2014, based on the order of the ex-chairman of the State Customs Service, 3,303 964 soms were paid to the staff of the customs bodies as premiums for the second quarter of the year.
The criminal case was sent to the Investigation Department of the State Committee for National Security for further investigation.
Adamkul Zhunusov headed the State Customs Service in August 2014. Until February 2018, he was the Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for Energy Industry and Infrastructure.
