At least 27 rabies cases recorded in Kyrgyzstan in 2018

Since the beginning of 2018, at least 27 cases of rabies were recorded in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced at a meeting of the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety with the participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov.

According to the agency, brucellosis was detected in 1,903 heads of cattle and 27 foci of rabies were recorded for six months of the year.

About 1.6 million heads of livestock and 412,000 dogs have been vaccinated. All dogs were included in Dogs information system.

«We intend to give collars to all the dogs that have been dewormed. Then it will be possible to distinguish the vaccinated dog from unvaccinated,» said the director of the inspection Kalys Zhumakanov.
