Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to increase mutual trade turnover

Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan aimed at increasing mutual trade to $ 1 billion. This became known during the meeting of the prime ministers of the two countries Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev and Bakytzhan Sagintayev in Dushanbe.

According to the press service of the government, the bilateral meeting took place in the framework of the next meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, which will be held today, on June 1.

Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev noted that strengthening of strategic relations with Kazakhstan is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy.

«Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan allied relations have gained due dynamism; active political and economic dialogue is maintained, contacts are being established at all levels, which undoubtedly contribute to a meaningful filling of the bilateral partnership,» he said.

According to him, the potential for increasing bilateral trade and building up trade and economic ties between the two countries is huge.

«Our presidents set a task aimed at increasing mutual trade to $ 1 billion. This encourages us to cooperate more closely in order to create conditions for increasing mutual trade turnover and removing existing barriers to trade,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan, Bakytzhan Sagintayev, noted that the Kazakh side was always ready to support any initiatives aimed at developing and strengthening bilateral relations.
