Prime Minister advises Health Minister to recruit professional staff

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a working meeting with the Health Minister Kosmosbek Cholponbaev. Press service of the government reported.

«Formation of a strong team of professionals, who are committed to working honestly and transparently for the benefit of the state and its people, must be one of the priorities in your work. We all know that only a healthy nation is capable of developing and creating a strong state. The current situation in the healthcare system requires significant changes at all levels,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

He stressed that today’s priority is the prevention of diseases and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the strengthening of primary health care to the population, the revision of regulations and the consideration of the outsourcing issue in the health care system.

«Reforms in the health care sector should be carefully analyzed and aimed at eradicating corruption, improving the quality of services provided to the population, creating conditions in medical institutions at the local level. The last years practice demonstrates the shortage of not only medical personnel, but also modern management in the health care system. People got used to work in the old manner and do not want to change anything. In many ways, people’s trust in the government is determined by the quality of medical services. Therefore, medicine requires close attention from the state,» said Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev.

The Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbaev noted that he would adhere to the determined principles in his work, and would also direct efforts to create conditions for medical workers in the regions to avoid staff turnover, to attract grants and foreign investments in the development of the health care system.
