«The country cannot finance 31 state universities,» former Education Minister Kamilla Sharshekeeva said at a round table today.
According to her, the state can finance one technical college, one medical academy and a national university. «We need to finally choose six or seven universities that are necessary for the republic as strategic, and stop financing all the rest,» said Kamilla Sharshekeeva.
«We are ridiculously funding university teachers. We compare what we pay at private universities and at the national university. There is almost three times difference. We need to pay attention to this,» she added.
