At least 140 people have applied to the Republican Infectious Clinical Hospital of Bishkek as a result of food poisoning at a wedding in Ala-Too restaurant since April 1 until 9.00 am today. The medical institution presented such data to 24.kg news agency.
98 patients, 16 children and 82 adults, have been hospitalized.
«The patients are still coming. There were 192 people at the wedding,» the doctors told.
«The condition of patients is stable, they are receiving treatment since yesterday. There were three patients in serious condition in intensive care unit (one child, two women). There is only one woman in the unit now. Her condition is stable,» the doctors informed.
As Esenbek Satylkanov, Health Care Coordinator for Issyk-Kul region, told the press center of the Ministry of Health, 12 people, who attended the wedding party and returned from Bishkek, came to the territorial hospital of Issyk-Kul region.
As of April 1, at least 10 people were hospitalized, one was provided with outpatient care. All patients have similar complaints: headache, dizziness, nausea. Some have fever and diarrhea.
The State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Center conducted an unscheduled inspection with an examination of the restaurant’s waitstaff and sampling of food products.
The results of the laboratory tests, indicating the cause of mass poisoning, will be known within three days. According to preliminary data, the specialists suspect that batter-fried chicken caused the mass poisoning.
