Kyrgyzstani Bolot Toktogonov won bronze medal at the Grand Slam tournament in Germany. Ippon.org reported.
The competition ended on February 25 in Düsseldorf. At least 440 athletes from 65 countries participated in it, including seven representatives of Kyrgyzstan. Five of our judokas dropped out of the fight in the early stages. Two more, performing in the weight category of over 100 kilograms, competed for bronze medal.
Bolot Toktogonov defeated the representatives of Romania and Ukraine, then lost to the Russian and defeated the Mongol. Yuriy Krakovetsky defeated judokas from Germany, Tunisia and Israel and lost to the Japanese. As a result, two Kyrgyzstanis met in a duel for the third place that is a rare phenomenon at tournaments of this level. Toktogonov won, and Krakovetsky became the fifth in the final protocol.
