Sending of Kyrgyz peacekeepers to Syria possible only with consent of Parliament

Sending of Kyrgyz peacekeepers to Syria is possible only with the consent of the Parliament. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov told in an interview with Izvestia.

According to him, this issue is discussed at the level of some experts in the media. «The possibility of sending a peacekeeping contingent to Syria was considered at a meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council, but at this stage it did not develop. Kyrgyzstan has not received any invitations from anyone and has not negotiated with any party to send our military to Syria,» explained Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

He added that the implementation of this issue will require the unanimous decision of all the CSTO countries, the receipt of a positive resolution of the UN Security Council, and, most importantly, the consent of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
