Kyrgyz hospitals continue to buy drugs at inflated price

Hospitals in Kyrgyzstan continue to buy drugs at an inflated price. Member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Health Aybar Sultangaziev told today at a press conference.

According to him, in 2016, the Public Council conducted a study and found out that medicines were bought at the price that was 4–5 times higher than in a pharmacy. «Has something changed this year? We see the same stories," Aybar Sultangaziev said.

He noted that the laws are imperfect. The public procurement portal allows «playing». «Before signing the contract, we recommended to monitor the prices. For example, a drug is bought in Turkey and is sold five times more expensive in our country," Aybar Sultangaziev added.
