Border guards’ daily routine: Service at −50°C

Kyrgyzstan’s border guards continue to carry out border protection and patrol duties in high-altitude and hard-to-reach areas of the country during the winter period, including along the section of the state border with China in Naryn region.

According to the Border Service, air temperatures in the region drop to between −30 and −50 degrees Celsius.

Despite the piercing cold and harsh weather conditions, Border Service personnel remain on duty around the clock at their posts.

The photos show border patrol units performing their service duties on foot and on horseback.
