An opening ceremony of the Kyrgyz-Chinese joint laboratory for the protection of cultural heritage was held in Bishkek. The Ministry of Culture reported.
The initiative was implemented on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in August 2024 between the Dunhuang Academy and the Republican Inspectorate for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Kyrgyzstan.
As part of the opening ceremony, the parties signed a special agreement on the technical equipping of the laboratory. The Chinese side donated specialized equipment worth 25 million soms. It is intended to take research, restoration and protection of the historical and cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz Republic to a new level.
