Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov appointed Director of National Center of Traumatology

Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov has been appointed Director of the National Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics under the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan. The Cabinet’s press service reported.

The corresponding order was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev.

It is worth noting that construction of the National Center has only recently begun. The facility is designed to accommodate 440 beds.

Until 2022, Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov served as Director of the Clinical Hospital for Emergency Medical Care (formerly known as the Bishkek Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics).

Sabyrbek Dzhumabekov is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences. He was born on August 11, 1964 in Talas region.

In 1987 he graduated from the Kyrgyz Medical Institute, and in 1995 he completed postgraduate and doctoral studies at the Crimean Medical Institute in Simferopol.

From 1996 to 2002 — Deputy Director of the Kyrgyz Research Institute of Balneology and Rehabilitation.

Since 1997 — head of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Experimental Surgery of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy.

From 2002 to 2004, he headed the Department of Health of the Bishkek City Hall and the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund.

From 2004 to 2022 — Director of the Bishkek Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
