The national football team of Kyrgyzstan played against Uzbekistan in the qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Kyrgyz Football Union reported on social media.
In the seventh-round match, Kyrgyzstan lost with a score 0-1.
Other Group A matches are scheduled, including Iran vs. UAE and Qatar vs. North Korea.
Kyrgyzstan’s next match will take place on March 25 in Bishkek against Qatar.
In October 2024, Kyrgyzstan played two qualifying matches for 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Asian zone. The team lost an away game against Qatar but secured a home victory against North Korea, currently ranking fifth in the group.
