Kyrgyzstan and Turkey will begin joint production of films and TV series. The Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Altynbek Maksutov announced at the XI summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
The countries signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of audiovisual production.
«This will allow us to cooperate with Turkey in the creation of films, videos and TV series. We will exchange experience, which is especially important in the global film production environment. We recently concluded a similar agreement with Italy,» Altynbek Maksutov told.
The Minister also noted that funding for the film industry in Kyrgyzstan increases annually. In 2023, the amount of support was increased 10 times, and this year funding will already amount to 1 billion soms.
«This shows that we can create high-quality film projects on par with other countries. In 2025, we plan to build filming pavilions, which will expand our opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experience with foreign partners. Turkey, known for its popular TV series, will become an important partner for us,» Altynbek Maksutov added.
