17-year-old Kyrgyzstani hit by car in St. Petersburg, she is in coma

A car hit a 17-year-old student from Kyrgyzstan in St. Petersburg on Dvortsovaya (Palace) Embankment. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region reported. The girl was hospitalized in serious condition; she is in intensive care unit in a coma.

The police have opened a criminal case against the driver, who hit the pedestrian in the Central district of the city. It has already been established that in 2024 alone, the driver has been fined for violation of traffic rules five times.

The State Traffic Inspectorate officers found out at the scene that the 65-year-old man, driving a Skoda Rapid, moving from Troitsky Bridge along the embankment towards Mramorny Lane, hit the 17-year-old girl, who was crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing.

The case was opened under Article 264 «Violation of the traffic rules and operation of vehicles, which resulted in the inadvertent causing of serious bodily harm» of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
