Anesthesiologist steals 1,300 ampoules of psychotropic substances from clinic

Officers of the State Service on Drug Control and the Department of Internal Affairs of Sverdlovsky district detained a 33-year-old anesthesiologist. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

According to law enforcement officials, they discovered the theft of 1,340 ampoules of potent drugs from a private children’s clinic.

A case was opened under the articles «Theft or extortion of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances» and «Illegal issuance or forgery of a document for receiving narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

«The suspect was identified. He turned out to be a 33-year-old anesthesiologist-resuscitationist working for a private children’s clinic. During his work since 2023, using his official position, he forged powers of attorney to receive narcotic drugs, putting signatures on behalf of the director of the clinic. Having direct access to the drugs, the suspect secretly stole narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for personal use, thereby causing damage on an especially large scale,» the statement says.

Forensic legal examinations have been ordered in the criminal case. A legal assessment of the doctor’s actions will be given based on their results. A source in law enforcement agencies told 24.kg news agency that this is Deni Sak Bala LLC private clinic, and the anesthesiologist-resuscitationist himself used stolen narcotic and psychotropic drugs.
