The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan conducted another currency intervention on October 8. According to data posted on the bank’s website, $54.5 million was sold during the intervention. Of these, $20 million was sold with settlements on the day of the transaction, and $34.5 million — with settlements on another date.
The last time the National Bank conducted a currency intervention was on September 5, when it bought $22.5 million on the market at a rate of 84.2 soms per dollar.
Since the beginning of 2024, the National Bank has conducted 19 interventions: 13 currency purchase transactions, as a result of which $369.35 million was withdrawn from the market, and 6 sales transactions for a total of $204.45 million.
