Public foundation representative detained in Bishkek for sale of hashish

Officers of the State Service on Drug Control detained a 34-year-old man on suspicion of organizing a drug distribution channel, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. The detainee is the deputy curator of one of the public foundations in Pervomaisky district of Bishkek.

The officers received information that an unknown man had been selling drugs for a long time and had established a stable supply channel from Toktogul district to Chui region. A case was opened under the article «Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues without the intent to sell» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The suspect was identified as 34-year-old A.D., who was detained in Bishkek at the intersection of Suerkulov and Yunusaliev streets. During the search, two matchboxes with hashish were confiscated from the detainee, the total weight of which was 23.81 grams. The man was placed in a temporary detention facility, the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are working to identify other participants in this crime.
