President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic Lorenzo Fontana.
The parties exchanged views on strengthening inter-parliamentary diplomacy, as well as current topics on the bilateral, regional and international agendas.
Lorenzo Fontana emphasized that Sadyr Japarov’s friendly visit to Italy will give new impetus to the further development and deepening of relations between the two countries.
He thanked the Kyrgyz side for their active participation in the dialogue platform in Italy + Central Asia format.
The President of Kyrgyzstan, in turn, noted that this meeting will serve as a significant impetus to promote inter-parliamentary dialogue between the countries.
He confirmed the readiness of the political leadership of Kyrgyzstan to develop the entire range of bilateral relations with Italy. The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan is the only country in the Central Asian region that has experience with a parliamentary form of government.
«I believe that the current parliamentary democracy originates from people’s kurultais, and we continue this centuries-old tradition to this day. In turn, Italy also has a long tradition of parliamentarism. We are committed to developing inter-parliamentary ties with Italy,» Sadyr Japarov added.
