The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan received a prestigious UN award for its contribution to the fight against non-communicable diseases. The press center of the ministry reported.
According to it, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, held in New York, the Ministry of Health received the prestigious award of the UN Working Group on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for 2024.
The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that this award symbolizes recognition of the collective efforts of the ministry, as well as all state and public organizations involved in the fight against NCDs.
«Intersectoral interaction and an integrated approach to the prevention of non-communicable diseases are essential elements in building a healthy society and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),» the ministry added.
This award is not only recognition of the work of the Ministry of Health, but also of all those who work daily to reduce the burden of NCDs, the ministry noted.
The Ministry of Health will continue to closely cooperate with international organizations and partners to strengthen the healthcare system and improve the quality of life of the population.
