President of Egypt awards ex-mufti of Kyrgyzstan

The ex-mufti of Kyrgyzstan, and now the chairman of the Ulema Council, Zamir Rakiev, received the highest award from the President of Egypt. The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK) reported on social media.

An event was held in Cairo on September 16 to award honored figures for their contribution to religion and service to the people. They were awarded honorary state medals. The event was also attended by the President of EgyptAbdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil el-Sisi, who presented Zamir Rakiev with the medal.

The former mufti of the Kyrgyz Republic received the Science and Culture medal for his special contribution to the development and dissemination of the traditional direction of Islam and his contribution to the development of friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.
