Shooting at Wildberries office: Moscow's Basmanny Court arrests six people

Six people have been arrested in connection with the shooting at Wildberries office in Moscow. The press service of the city’s courts of general jurisdiction reported.

The Basmanny Court reportedly arrested A. Saifullaev, I. Konoplev, M. Nurmatov, R. Kanaev, A. Efremov and M. Manzhiev until November 18. They are accused of attacking the office in Romanov Dvor business center.

The husband of Wildberries founder, Vladislav Bakalchuk, was detained for 48 hours on September 18. He is accused of murder, attempted murder and assault on a law enforcement officer, as well as arbitrariness. He does not admit guilt. The court will choose the measure of restraint today.

At least 33 people are defendants in the criminal case on the shootout in the center of Moscow. According to the investigators, the attackers, led by Vladislav Bakalchuk, arrived at the office on Romanov Lane «with the aim of influencing the management of Wildberries LLC to make a decision to transfer 49 percent of the company’s shares free of charge.» The prosecution believes that the people who came with Bakalchuk «began to use violence against people in the office,» and also shot at them «from a weapon not identified by the investigation.»

A shooting occurred in Romanov Dvor business center in Moscow on September 18. Two security guards were killed and seven people were injured. The owner of the corporation, Tatyana Bakalchuk, accused her husband Vladislav of a «raider takeover» attempt. In response, he said that he had come with his team to negotiate, but they were shot at.

Vladislav Bakalchuk is a co-founder of Wildberries, he owns 1 percent of the company, his wife Tatyana owns 99 percent. In July, Wildberries and the outdoor advertising operator Russ announced merger plans, and soon Vladislav met with Ramzan Kadyrov, who announced a «raider takeover» of the marketplace. Tatyana Bakalchuk said that her husband was «misleading people», and she later filed for divorce.
