Scientists from Omsk to organize seed deliveries to Kyrgyzstan

Scientists from Omsk will organize seed deliveries to Kyrgyzstan and provide scientific support.

Director of the Omsk Agricultural Research Center Maxim Chekusov and First Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chui region Samat Ismanov signed a cooperation agreement at the IV Forum of Heads of Regions of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

«We have already sent seeds to Kyrgyzstan, they got a good harvest. Now we want to increase the volume of deliveries, send soybeans and other crops there. We are also planning scientific support with a visit by our scientists in July-August,» Maxim Chekusov said.

There are plans to hold a Field Day in Kyrgyzstan, he noted.

«This is a big event, we would like to invite more agricultural workers, scientists, to see how our Siberian varieties will show themselves there,» he added.

About 500 people are taking part in the IV Forum of Heads of Regions of the SCO Member States, which is being held in Omsk from September 17 to September 19. Delegations from 14 Russian regions and 11 foreign countries have arrived to attend the event.
