Officials discuss construction of Turkmenistan Business Center in Bishkek

Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan plan to simplify trade and transit procedures. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Nazarbek Malaev discussed the issue with Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency Mamedkhan Chakyev, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Babaniyaz Yalakov, Deputy Minister of Energy Serdar Saparov, Chairman of the State Concern Turkmennebit Guvanch Agadzhanov and head of the Department of International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Atageldy Khaldzhanov at a meeting in Ashgabat.

A wide range of issues of Kyrgyzstan-Turkmenistan cooperation were discussed, including interaction in the fields of trade, energy, industry, investment, and transport.

The parties noted the need to step up work to simplify trade and transit procedures, as well as to take practical measures to increase the potential for increasing trade turnover and creating favorable conditions for freight carriers during the transit of goods.

In order to improve the business conditions of the two countries, the parties agreed to hold a series of online meetings with the participation of relevant ministries and departments to consider and implement mechanisms for unifying transport, transit, visa fees, simplifying procedures for export, import and transit operations, obtaining visas by freight carriers and increasing the validity of visas to one year.

It is planned to establish a joint investment development fund, implement a project on construction of Turkmenistan Business Center and a resort and recreational facility in Bishkek.
