Rosatom intends to build a small hydropower plant (HPP) in Kyrgyzstan. The capacity of Chandalash HPP will be up to 30 megawatts.
The agreements were signed by Rosatom Service, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and the Kyrgyz company Alfa Oil. Construction will be carried out in Jalal-Abad region. It is expected that the hydropower plant will be commissioned in three years.
Vladimir Bredov, Deputy General Director for Project Management at Rosatom Service, believes that Chandalash HPP will have a «positive impact on the well-being of local residents and the development of the country’s industry.»
