Cabinet Chairman invites Korean companies to invest in Kyrgyzstan

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province of Korea Lee Cheol-woo. The Cabinet of Ministers reported.

Akylbek Japarov noted the growth of trade between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea, which in 2023 exceeded $1.1 billion.

The head of the Cabinet emphasized the importance of continuing economic cooperation, especially in the areas of information technology, education, agriculture and energy. Akylbek Japarov invited Korean companies to invest in key sectors of Kyrgyzstan’s economy, including energy, mining, infrastructure and tourism. He also proposed the creation of joint ventures and expansion of student exchange programs.

Governor Lee Cheol-woo expressed his readiness to develop bilateral cooperation and stressed the importance of investment and the introduction of smart technologies in agriculture, as well as the intensification of tourism ties and education exchanges.
