The President of Kyrgyzstan has imposed a moratorium on raising salaries of civil servants. The corresponding document was published in Erkin-Too government newspaper.
The moratorium was imposed until 2026. The decision was made in order to optimize state budget expenditures.
A ban on increasing the salaries of employees of state agencies, committees, offices of presidential envoys to the regions, as well as local administration bodies is introduced. A ban on expanding the staff of state bodies is also imposed.
Changes in the size of salaries of civil servants, as well as in the structure of the staff are possible in special cases by a separate decision of the head of state.
The department for monitoring the implementation of decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers has to monitor the moratorium.
