Doctors removed 452 metal objects from a man’s stomach in Iran. Daily Mail reported.
A 37-year-old local resident turned to a hospital in Ahvaz complaining of acute abdominal pain and frequent vomiting, due to which he could neither eat nor drink. An examination revealed the presence of a large mass of metal in the Iranian’s stomach.
A few days later, the patient was diagnosed with psychosis. It can take the form of hallucinations, leading to delusional ideas about the real world, confused and bizarre thinking. The man swallowed metal on his own during episodes of exacerbation of the disorder.
Psychosis is caused by head injuries, tumors, depression and drug addiction. Doctors found out that the patient was heavily dependent on opiates. The man was sent to a psychiatric ward for treatment.
