Returned from Olympic Games in Paris athletes welcomed in Bishkek

The national team of Kyrgyzstan returned to their homeland after the Olympics in Paris.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov, Secretary of State Suyunbek Kasmambetov, fans and relatives welcomed the athletes at Manas airport.

A concert program was organized for the athletes. Then the motorcade with the participants and winners of the Olympic Games headed to the Government House, where the awarding ceremony for the medalists was held with the participation of the head of state Sadyr Japarov.

According to preliminary data, each athlete, who participated in the Olympics, will be presented with a car.

At least 16 athletes from Kyrgyzstan participated in the Games — in wrestling, swimming, track and field, judo and boxing. Kyrgyzstanis won four bronze and two silver medals and set two national records.
