Armenia refuses to participate in CSTO exercises in Kyrgyzstan

Armenia refused to participate in the CSTO exercises, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan. As the organization’s Telegram channel reports, this country does not plan to take part in the command and staff exercises with the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of CSTO Interaction-2024 in early September.

It is noted that the command and staff exercises will be held on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic from September 3 to September 15.

«The Armenian side informed that it does not plan to participate in the exercises,» the statement says.

The command and staff exercises Interaction-2024 are special exercises with the forces and means of intelligence Search-2024, forces and means of the logistical support of the troops (Collective Forces) of the CSTO Echelon-2024 that are held in accordance with the plan for joint training of command and control bodies and formations of forces of the CSTO collective security system for 2024.

The following contingents (units) will take part in the exercises:

  • Armed Forces of the CSTO member states;
  • Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Guard;
  • Representatives of the special services of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • Emergencies Ministries of the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • Operational groups of the Secretariat and the Joint Staff of the CSTO.
