About 1,000 new cases of hepatitis registered in Gaza Strip every week

From 800 to 1,000 new cases of hepatitis A are registered in the Gaza Strip (Palestine) every week. UN News website says.

It is noted that 10 months ago, before the war with Israel, 85 cases of hepatitis were registered. Now the number of patients is 40,000.

According to the organization, the hepatitis A is spreading in the conditions of the war in Gaza. Families are forced to leave their homes and live in terrible and inhumane conditions in overcrowded camps and shelters. They lack clean water, hygiene kits and proper waste and sewage management.

For these reasons, in addition to hepatitis, there has also been a surge in diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory infections.
