Only 637 out of 1,906 villages in Kyrgyzstan are provided with clean water. The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry reported.
The remaining 1,071 villages are promised to be provided with drinking water in the near future.
Currently, a program for the provision of 260 settlements with clean water is in effect throughout the republic.
«In addition, a program for the use of groundwater in wells for 2024-2030 will be implemented. An inventory and restoration of wells will be carried out. Within its framework, work is planned to repair 1,155 wells for 3.6 billion soms,» the Ministry of Agriculture noted.
The head of the Ministry of Water Resources, Bakyt Torobaev, instructed to speed up the work and not delay the provision of villagers with clean water.
