The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported the details of a search of the houses of members of a destructive group that was planning a violent seizure of power.
According to the State Committee, the following items were discovered:
- 50 weapons;
- 20 pistols;
- 255,238 units of ammunition;
- 200 sets of law enforcement uniforms;
- 150 police and 100 military headwear;
- 38 sets of body armor;
- 2 drones, walkie-talkies, homemade explosives, extremist literature.
Additional investigative and operational measures are underway. A source of 24.kg news agency in law enforcement agencies reported that a military ID of the deputy Marlen Mamataliev was found during a search in the house of one of the suspects in planning an armed coup.
Marlen Mamataliev told 24.kg news agency that during the revolution in 2010, his office in the White House was robbed, and among the stolen documents was his military ID. He had it restored, but during the 2020 riots, his office was robbed again and the document was also stolen.
The State Committee for National Security reported on July 5 about five detained Kyrgyzstanis who were plotting an armed coup.
