Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Imangaziev and Deputy Minister of Justice of Turkey Hurşit Yildirim discussed implementation of the agreement on legal assistance in civil, commercial and criminal cases between the countries in Ankara. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues of extradition and transfer of convicts serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty on the territory of both states.
According to the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic, 31 citizens of Kyrgyzstan were serving their sentences in Turkey as of May 2024, 13 more were under investigation.
