Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan sign protocol in energy sector

Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed a protocol in the energy sector. Trend news agency reported, citing the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following a meeting of the heads of water and energy departments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the city of Cholpon-Ata, a protocol of the meeting of the heads of energy departments of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on cooperation in the water and energy sector was signed.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of joint solving of problems associated with the energy deficit in Central Asian countries through cooperation and improving strategic initiatives, as well as issues of rational use of water, energy resources and import of electricity from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia in the autumn-winter period 2024-2025 to Kyrgyzstan to provide the population with electricity.

Negotiations on oil and energy equipment were held with Azerbaijan.

The event was also attended by representatives of Energia Coordinating Dispatch Center, KEGOC JSC (Kazakhstan), Inter RAO PJSC (Russia).
