The President of Kyrgyzstan will visit Uzbekistan for a state visit. Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev announced this in Cholpon-Ata, where a meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan and the Oliy Majlis took place.
According to him, this state visit will give great impetus to the further development of cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting in Cholpon-Ata, parliament members of the two countries discussed the main areas of cooperation.
The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation between border regions and creation of favorable conditions for their development. Work is underway to improve cooperation between Batken, Osh, and Jalal-Abad regions with Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions of Uzbekistan in the field of trade, sports and tourism.
In addition, due to the large number of people at Dostuk checkpoint, it was proposed to open Yntymak checkpoint.
