Kyrgyzstan provides humanitarian aid to Palestine

Kyrgyzstan has provided humanitarian aid to Palestine. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The ministry noted that the head of state in his speech at the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic was ready to provide humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

On behalf of the Kyrgyz people, the Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered humanitarian aid. Necessary goods and foodstuffs were purchased in Russia. Then the humanitarian cargo weighing 5.5 tons was delivered to Palestine by air transport of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

The humanitarian cargo included food, bottled water, bedding and shoes for the residents of the Gaza Strip. After unloading, the humanitarian aid was handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which sent it to the population of Gaza.

The Emergencies Ministry added that so far the number of dead as a result of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 23,000 people, most of whom are women and children. More than 57,000 residents were injured. This number is increasing every day. Sixty percent of the city’s infrastructure has been destroyed and the refugee camp is suffering from shortages of food, water and medicines. The World Health Organization is sounding the alarm, saying the humanitarian crisis is leading to an increase in infectious diseases in the region.

«In turn, Kyrgyzstan expresses its hope for a speedy settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and that the parties will resolve the situation through rapid negotiations, mutual understanding, and the war causing the death of innocent people will stop,» the ministry concluded.
