Bishkek City Hall approved an increase in the fare for travel in public transport from January 15, 2024. The decision was made at its session.
The fare will be 17 soms in case of non-cash payment, at cash payment — 20 soms.
As Vice Mayor of the capital Maksatbek Sazykulov noted, public transport has switched to cashless payment since August 20.
«But we have shortfalls in the provision of transport enterprise, as the cost of passenger transportation by bus is 19.7 soms, trolleybus — 19.3 soms. We want people to pay at least at the cost price. Our proposal is 17 soms for non-cash payment and 20 soms for cash payment. It’s not because we want to earn more, but so that people switch to cashless payment,» he said.
In private buses and minibuses, the fare will be 20 soms.
