Several attempts to illegally smuggle goods across Kyrgyz-Tajik state border were prevented in Batken region. The Information and Communications Department of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
According to it, a driver of a Mercedes-Benz Atego tried to smuggle about eight tons of chicken meat across the state border on Muras — Dostuk highway.
Later, in the area of Sai, when inspecting a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, border guards found a cache of batteries with a total weight of 1,400 kilograms.
In the same area on December 25, during an inspection of an Audi car, servicemen of Leilek border detachment found an illegally transported cargo — 1,000 kilograms of Myth washing powder.
After completing the relevant documents, the detainees and the smuggled cargo were handed over to employees of the competent authorities for further investigation.
