Bishkek City Hall purchases special road marking equipment

Bishkek City Hall will purchase special equipment for applying road marking. Director of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Ulan Uezbaev announced at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Housing and Communal Services, Fuel and Energy Complex, Transport, Communications and Ecology of the Bishkek City Hall.

«On behalf of Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev, we purchase modern road marking equipment. No one in Central Asia has it. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan rent it. We have signed the contract. Delivery is expected in March,» he said.

It was previously reported that the width of lanes on the capital’s roads will be reduced. Today it ranges from 3.75 to 4.5 meters.

«For example, if you drive along Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, there are only two lane markings, but in fact there are three rows of cars, they do not interfere with each other. In Europe and Asia, the lane width is 2.75-3.25 meterswith a maximum of 3.6 meters. We’ll probably narrow it down to the optimal size so that three cars can fit,» Vice Mayor Maksatbek Sazykulov said earlier in an interview with 24.kg news agency.
