Large batch of drugs imported from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan seized in Uzbekistan

Employees of the State Security Service and the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan discovered and seized about 30 kilograms of hashish, almost 4 kilograms of opium and more than 4.5 kilograms of mephedrone, smuggled into the republic from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The National News Agency of Uzbekistan (UzA) reports.

«State Security Service employees and customs officers stopped the sale in Uzbekistan of 27.5 kilograms of hashish and almost 4 kilograms of opium smuggled from Tajikistan. In addition, more than 4.5 kilograms of mephedrone imported from Kyrgyzstan were discovered and seized in Andijan region,» the statement says.

According to UzA, hashish and opium were found during a search of the apartment of a resident of Tashlak district of Fergana region, who «planned to sell them», and a local resident was detained in Kurgantepe district of Andijan region while trying to sell 1.8 kilograms of mephedrone for $80,000, in whose house 2.7 kilograms of mephedrone were found.

It is also reported that when checking a Damas car driven by a resident of Andijan region, 2,800 pieces of the potent drug Regapen and 957 bottles of Tropicamide, illegally imported to Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan, were found in the cabin in Andijan region.
