The film «Alaman» by Kyrgyz director Sooronbek Turgunmamatov won a prize for the best non-fiction debut at Kinoproba Festival in Yekaterinburg (Russia). The festival’s website says.
The Grand Prix was awarded to the film «250 km» by Hasmik Movsisyan (All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, Russia).
Kinoproba Festival has been held since 2004. This is not just a festival-competition, but also a festival-workshop. The participants are representatives of a wide variety of film schools from around the world. The non-competition program included film screenings, master classes, lectures and meetings with guests.
The organizing committee of the festival in 2023 received more than 600 applications from young filmmakers, of which 118 films were selected for participation in the competition program.
