According to him, to this day, investigations into the case are underway.

«Additional investigation is underway. The persons involved are being established. Full information will be provided to the media in the near future,» Samat Isabekov said.

Among those dismissed, he added, are those who held senior positions.

After the change of power in October 2020, the State Committee for National Security opened a criminal case into corruption at customs. The detention of the then deputy head of the Customs Service, Raiymbek Matraimov, took place at a gas station two steps from the department building. The total damage caused by Raiymbek Matraimov in one criminal case alone amounted to 2 billion soms. He compensated for the damage for two months, most of the amount was returned in property — buildings and apartments. He pleaded guilty to corruption. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced him to a fine of 260,000 soms.
