Officers of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) seized illegally stored weapons and ammunition from a resident of Chui region. The SCNS press center reported.
As a result of a search of the house, illegally stored SKS carbine systems with ammunition (7.62 mm), live cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifle (5.45 mm) and pistol cartridges of 9 mm caliber were discovered and seized. Special equipment (walkie-talkie, signal pistol), sets of special equipment (army ammunition vest, masks, protective helmets), a dummy RGD-5 grenade and components for an improvised explosive device were also found.
The SCNS added that the search was carried out as part of a criminal case initiated under Article 267 (illegal trafficking in weapons, ammunition) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Appropriate examinations have been ordered on the discovered and seized materials, and operative investigative measures continue.
