Facebook user calling for rallies through social media detained

A Facebook user, who called for organizing mass unrest on November 19, 2023, was detained. The press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.

The user of «Adis Zhumgalov» account on Facebook was reportedly detained — citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic M.A.R., 43. According to the State Committee for National Security, he regularly posted calls for mass unrest and active disobedience to the legal demands of government officials. A case was initiated under Article 278 (mass riots) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

«During a search at the place of residence of the man, four mobile phones, a personal computer, two firearms and ammunition for them, and other material evidence relevant to the criminal case were seized,» the statement says.
