Policeman detained in Tokmak for extortion of $2,000 from woman

An employee of the Tokmak police department was detained on the fact of extortion. The press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.

On October 19, as part of a criminal case initiated under Article 208 «Extortion» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, senior police lieutenant was caught red-handed while taking 178,000 soms.

The employee of the Tokmak police department extorted $2,000 for not prosecuting the applicant’s son, who was accused of rape.

The detainee was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. Work continues to identify other employees involved in the aforementioned violations.
