The Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan considered the candidacy of Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva for the post of Minister of Education and Science.
Speaking to deputies, she noted that the ministry’s priority is to increase the number of classes in the Kyrgyz language.
«Perhaps, this will cause resentment in some educational institutions, resistance. It may be necessary to close Russian-language classes in rural schools where there is no Russian environment. They do not give the proper quality in the development of the education system,» Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva said.
She also noted that every Kyrgyzstani must speak the state language.
«No matter what country you go to: Estonia, Finland, everyone there works in the same language. Therefore, despite nationality, we must speak the Kyrgyz language. The Ministry of Education will pursue a sustainable policy in this direction,» Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva concluded.
