State driving schools to be opened in every district of Kyrgyzstan

Unaa state institution becomes an independent agency. The head of the press service of the presidential administration, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, announced on Facebook.

He commented on the signed decree of the head of state.

The head of the presidential press service noted that Unaa state agency will open its driving schools in Bishkek, Osh and 40 regions of Kyrgyzstan. They will teach how to drive various vehicles.

«The older generation probably remembers the principles of DOSAAF. They will be used. State driving schools will be equipped with cars and trucks, furniture and equipment. The emphasis will be on practical skills. The need to open driving schools in rural areas is primarily due to the increase in the number of road accidents, the ignorance of the majority of drivers of the rules of the road, and the uncontrolled issuance of driver’s licenses,» Daiyrbek Orunbekov noted.

He stressed that the study and exams would be under the control of the state. No one can get a driver’s license without fully mastering the rules of driving and traffic.

«There have been cases in the past when parents bought driving licenses for 18-year-old children. Even today there are cases when a person, after training, failed to pass the exam 17 times. Those who received a driver’s license during the Soviet era know that they were not issued until the person had fully mastered all the necessary information in the field of road traffic. Now the state takes control of learning to drive a car, trains citizens according to the same principles as during the Soviet Union, creates conditions for this and takes care of it,» Daiyrbek Orunbekov concluded.
